Cultural center of the Armies


The Cultural Center of the Armies, also known as Serviceman's casino occupies a singular building, of great architectonic beauty, located in Great Via Madrilenian and with facade this street and those of Clavel and Caballero de Gracia.

The Center is an Association without profit spirit, of support to the military personnel, under protection of the established thing in article 22 of the Spanish Constitution and according to the had thing in Law 191/64 of 24 December of 1964 and whose statutes have been adapted to Statutory law 1/2002, of 22 of March, according to Resolution of the Community of Madrid of date 3 of January of 2005. Their aims agree and prolong with which they appeared in those of the “Cultural Center of the Army and the Navy” approved by Real Order of 13 of April of 1927.

The Statutes by which its operation is governed are presented/displayed and registered by the Ministry of Interior.

The building was inaugurated in 1916 with the S.M presence the King, and Alfonso XIII frames itself in the style who is a version of the declining synthesis, amalgamated with a certain ornamental naturalismo of modernist memory, that in France was known like “Art. Nouveau”.

The basic activities of this Center are: the reading, the periodic cycles of conferences, the musical suppers, hearing of song and music, dances in indicated dates, games, cafeteria, meeting of promotions and arms and service of hairdressing salon for ladies and horseman. Also, it is possible to be practiced gymnastics, fencing, taichi, reflexoterapia and massages.
